The Lifesaving Society's Swim for Life Program at OKGN Swims
At OKGN Swims, we are proud to offer the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life Program, a comprehensive, progressive swim program designed to teach children essential water safety and swimming skills. Formerly known as the Red Cross Swim Program, the Swim for Life Program has been updated to provide even more effective and structured learning. This program focuses on building water confidence, improving stroke development, and teaching lifesaving techniques, all in a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment. The program is broken down into different levels based on age and skill, ensuring each swimmer progresses at their own pace.
Program Levels
Parent & Tot (Ages 4-36 months)
- Focus: Water comfort and basic movements
- Parent participation required for this level
Preschool (Ages 3-5)
- Levels 1-5
- Builds confidence with basic water skills: floating, gliding, and simple strokes
Swimmer (Ages 6+)
- Levels 1-6
- Focuses on stroke development, endurance, and water safety skills
- Progresses from basic skills to advanced techniques like front crawl and breaststroke
Advanced Levels
- Rookie, Ranger, Star: For swimmers looking to enhance endurance and develop lifesaving skills
- Focus on strength-building, rescue techniques, and first aid

Report Cards & Badges
Swim for Life Report Cards & Badges
As part of the Swim for Life Program, students can receive official report cards and badges that reflect their progress and accomplishments in the program.
How it works:
- Request report cards: Simply let us know if you'd like your child to receive a Swim for Life report card at the start of lessons.
- Badges: Each level of achievement in the Swim for Life program comes with a badge that can be proudly worn or displayed.
- Note: These report cards and badges come at an additional $5 fee to cover the cost of ordering and processing.
